When & What Is My Child's First "Regular" Visit?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry suggests that a child’s first dental visit occur 6 months after the eruption of the first tooth, or by age 1, whichever comes first. We will gently examine your child's teeth and gums, and may clean your child’s teeth and apply topical fluoride to help protect the teeth against decay. We will review with you how to clean and care for your child’s teeth, and review dietary habits that may be affecting your child’s dental health. As your child gets older, x-rays may be taken to reveal decay and check on the progress of your child's permanent teeth under the gums.
Our office hours are 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, and 9 am to 1 pm on select Saturdays. Although afternoon appointments are the most popular, we recommend that younger patients (age 5 and under) be seen in the mornings, as they are usually more willing to cooperate when they are well-rested. We will, however, make an effort to accommodate each patient’s schedule.
If you have pain or an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you that day, but please understand that we are also seeing our regularly scheduled patients and your wait time may be prolonged. Delays to the schedule can occur and your understanding and patience are very much appreciated.
For your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa and MasterCard. Payment is due in full on the day of services. We also offer an interest-free, 3- or 6-month finance plan through Care Credit. If you have questions regarding your account, please contact us.
As a courtesy to you, we will bill your insurance carrier for our services. At each visit, we will estimate your portion (your co-pay), and ask for this amount at the time of service. Please understand that we can only provide an estimate of your insurance carrier’s coverage, and that your insurance company may not pay the estimated amount. Any remaining balance is the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
If possible, we ask that you please call or fax our office with your insurance information prior to your first visit, so that we can verify your eligibility and benefits ahead of time. We accept most insurances and are in-network providers for most PPO plans. We are also providers for several HMO and Healthy Families plans. Please contact our office regarding your particular insurance plan.
